Valentin Houinato is on the brink of competing in the Paris Olympic Games, representing Benin, the country of his father, while living in France. Competing in the -81kg category, Valentin earned bronze medals at the 2023 African Opens in Niamey and Dakar, and the 2024 African Open in Tunis. He finished fifth at the 2023 African Championships in Casablanca. Valentin's technical prowess includes uchi-mata, o-uchi-gari, and ura-nage. Academically, he holds a Bachelor's in Information and Communication and works as a radio reporter. Coached by Stéphane Trompille and Dimitri Dragin.
