Oceania Championships winner Calvin Knoester is tasked with the biggest competition of his young career in Azerbaijan. Perth-based Knoester has fought in three IJF Grand Prix this year (Agadir, Zagreb and Budapest) and has looked more composed with every outing. The World Championships newcomer has trained abroad extensively including stays at Tokai University in Japan and Camberley Judo Club in England. He captured a silver medal at the Pan American Open in Lima in 2019.
