Tarlan Karimov was 7th at the Olympic Games in London U66kg where he defeated favourite Musa Mogushkov in the first round. He won bronze at the Grand Slam in Baku in 2016. He won the World Cups in Baku in 2009 and 2011 and took silver at the European Championships in 2011.
