Merel Groenen was Dutch Judo Champion U15 in Eindhoven in 2010. She won 5 national medals at Cadet and Junior level. She won silver at the International Judo Cup of Dubrovnik in 2010. Sister of Jackie Groenen. Both quit judo and started their football career.
