Lightweight judoka Cécile Nowak was 1992 Olympic Champion for France U48kg. She was very successful and won the 1991 World title in Barcelona as well. She became 4 times European Champion in a row 1989-1992. Later she started a political career. Nowak is from Valenciennes. She won the Tournoi de Paris in 1989, 1990. 1991 and 1993.
