Georgian judoka Shalva Gureshidze became the junior world champion in 2023 in Odivelas. He won the Junior European Cup in Graz in 2022. He took a bronze medal at the Junior Worlds in Guayaquil in 2022. He claimed the European Junior title in 2022. With the Junior team of Georgia he secured a bronze medal at the European Mixed team Championships. He claimed the gold medal at the Junior European Cup in Prague in 2023. He claimed the victory at the Junior European Cup in Graz in 2023. He secured a silver medal at the European University Games in Zagreb in 2023.
