Another blow for British Judo as Stuart McWatt announced his shoulder injury is so severe he can’t continue to follow the qualification for Tokyo. His announcement follows the continuous injury of Nekoda Davis and retirement of Sally Conway.

McWatt informed his followers on his social media.

"Unfortunately during the Bronze medal fight at the Tel Aviv Grand Slam, a few weeks ago, I picked up a shoulder injury. Consequently, I will be missing the remainder of the Olympic qualification process and therefore Olympic Games in Tokyo."

"I would like to thank the British Judo Performance and Medical team for their ongoing support. I am looking forward to being back on the mat later this year a stronger, fitter and smarter fighter. In the mean time I will be supporting the rest of Team GB on their journey to Tokyo."
