The current World Champion, Majlinda Kelmendi (KOS), was again present in the final against Odette Giuffrida ITA). After one minute and a half, Kelmendi, totally dominating her opponent scored a first waza-ari with an almost perfect o-uchi-gari, followed by a second waza-ari with a hip movement. The World Champion reinforces her first position at the World Ranking List.

To be the current World Champion and World Number One of the category does not guarantee an easy victory in all the fights. Majlinda Kelmendi, from Kosovo, experienced it today in Samsun. But the only 22 year-old champion starts to be an experienced judoka. She needed a small yuko to pass the first round of preliminaries against Larisa Florian (ROU). In the second round she defeated more easily Mariia BUIOK (UKR) by waza-ari, but again in the semi-final, she had the wait until the end of the fight to win against the pugnacious Romy Tarangul (GER) by penalties.
