The most surprising winner of the Olympic gold in London, Lasha Shavdatuashvili announced his category move from U66kg to the 73kg. The 22-year old Georgian demonstrated in London that he is ready for big things, but how he will do it in his new category while Isaev (RUS), Ono (JPN), Nakaya (JPN), Legrand (FRA) already working hard for Rio 2016.

Also he shouldn't be worried only with the foregin athletes, first he will need to face up with his two team mates Nugzar Tatalashvili and Zebeda Rekhviashvili which already won medals at the last Europeans.

Shavdatuashvili is struggling to lose weight for months, he was far from his top level at the Worlds in Rio. Now already former U66kg fighter made big step in his career, a big transition, in which he must start from zero.

Young Shavdatuashvili was "hat-trick" for Georgia, as they've won three gold medals in row at the last Olympics. In Athens 2004 Zurab Zviadauri won gold, at the Beijing Olympics 2008 gold was won by Irakli Tsirekidze, both U90kg, and the latest one was by Lasha Shavdautashvili even everybody expected that from Varlam Liparteliani.
