Spain takes three gold medals in La Coruna

At the first day of the European Cup in La Coruna in Spain, the host nation took three gold medals. The two Spanish lightweights Mireia Lapuerta Comas and Laura Martinez Abelenda took the victory in both Spanish finals.

Alberto Gaitero Martin won in the men’s U66kg in the final against Israelian Yarin Menaged. Gaitero booked his first European Cup victory, this year in Coimbra he won bronze. The victory in the men's U73kg was for Italian Champion Andrea Gismondo. He defeated Jorge Cano of Spain in the final. 

Israel though won two gold medals by Daniel Ben David U60kg against his teammate Amir Dante.  Whilst Ariel Bezalel overcame Wilsa Gomes (CPV) in the final U57kg. Even three Israelian girls in the top 5 today in the North of Spain. Germany’s Patrycia Szekely won her category U52kg after she defeated Mariana Esteves of Portugal. Also two good Czech bronze medals by Zuzana Rehakova U52kg and Tomas Binhak U60kg. The men’s lightweight category delivered a victory for France. Pierre Dumontier defeated Italian Flavio Carrea in the final. Last year he won the European Cup in Paks.
