Margaux Pinot adds another Grand Prix U63kg

Margaux Pinot of France won the gold medal at the Grand Prix in Almaty. The French won her second Grand Prix in a short period as she won the Grand Prix Samsun in April. This time she defeated Tsend-Ayush Tserennadmid of Mongolia in the final U63kg, a match with not too many highlights but just a penalty difference between the two.
Pinot won four battles and sent Juul Franssen (NED) for bronze which the Dutch woman grabbed against Stefanie Tremblay. Tsend-Ayush defeated the other French, Marielle Pruvost in her first match, and via Stefanie Tremblay and Mia Hermansson she reached the final. Mia Hermansson let the tears float after she won the bronze medal, which meant a certain trip to Rio, as a participant. She scored yuko and wazari against Maricet Espinosa.
Former European Junior champion and World Junior medallist Margaux Pinot has grown in her old category where she won so many medals. In the 70kg it didn’t work in an optimal form, but she found her way back U63kg and booked her second victory. The 22-year old maybe an Olympian in the future.
