Georgia superior at Cadet European Cup Antalya

The Georgian cadet team U18 was superior at the European Cup for Cadets in Antalya. At the third European Cup this season, the youngsters of Georgia captured 6 gold medals, three by the men on the last day and three by the Georgian girls.

The only men’s category were Georgia didn’t win was U81kg where Ekubzhon Nazirov won gold by defeating his Georgian opponent. U73kg there was a clean sweep by the Georgian, four men on the podium, Nazirov prevented the same U81kg.

The Georgian girls were also dominant with three gold medals, but not so many medals as in the men’s division. Israelian Gili Sharar secured gold U63kg in the only final were host nation Turkey had a representative. Minel Akdeniz won silver. Turkey won 18 medals in total, but the 24 by Georgia were superior. Azerbaijan finished second with 4 titles on Saturday.

Over the three events so far in the season Azerbaijan won 9 titles, Italy 7, Hungary and Georgia follow with 6. Next week the tour moves to Zagreb.
