Judoka Marie Branser from Leipzig is a quadruple African Champion in 2020 2021, 2023 and 2024. Branser took four medals at German Championships and is former German University champion. She took various European Cup medals, 2 in 2013, 2 in 2014, 1 in 2015 and three in 2016 and 1 in 2017 in 9 different cities. In April 2019 she switched to Congo (COD) and in 2022 to Guinea. She took gold at the Pan American Open in Bariloche in 2020. She took gold at the African Open in Yaounde and Dakar in 2022 and African Open in Tunis in 2023. She is a Sports Director in Leipzig at her club.
