Georgios Balarjishvili of Cyprus won the men's U66kg Commonwealth Games title. Balarjishvili claimed the first ever gold for Cyprus in the Commonwealth Games judo history. He was also the second youngest winner ever beheind legend Craig Fallon in 2002, both as a teen. He took a bronze medal at the EYOF in Baku in 2019. He claimed the gold at the European Cup for Cadets in Chania in 2019. He claimed a bronze medal at the Junior European Cup in Athens in 2022. He won the Commonwealth Games in 2022 in Birmingham.
