In the latest edition of the IJF World Ranking some small changes in the top. In the category +100kg Japanese heavyweight Ryu Shichinohe climed to the second place behind leader Teddy Riner. Last week Hungarian Barna Bor was second, Bor is now ranked fourth behind Faicel Jaballah (TUN). The second best behind Kayla Harrison (USA) in the category U78kg is now Luise Malzahn.

The German gained one place from 3 to 2 and passed Ana Velensek (SLO). In the top ten World Champion Mami Umeki (JPN-7) swopped places with Natalie Powell (GBR-8). For both Malzahn as Shichinohe today's ranking is their best ever position.

Last week’s winners in Glasgow stepped into the top 30 of the World Ranking. Dutch Jeroen Mooren now 29, French Kilian Le Blouch now 39, his compatriot Guillaume Chaine now 27. British winner Owen Livesey is now ranked 32 and U90kg winner Cyril Grossklaus (SUI) is 26. Dutch Michael Korrel is 27th this week and Matjaz Ceraj (SLO) is 32 +100kg. Le Blouch, Chaine, Livsey and Ceraj have now won three European Open events this year and lead that table.

Some of the winners in Lisbon last weekend are in the top 5 such as Taciana Lima, stable at 4, Majlinda Kelmendi gained one place to 4 from 5. Vargas Koch is back to the top 3, from 4 last week. The new ranking includes a reduction of last year’s Grand Prix of Kazachstan, won by Vargas Koch, but she compensated this week with 100 new points.
