The Netherlands finally have their scalp. The first World title in history at Cadet World Championships thanks to Sanne Vermeer. Previously The Dutch missed their chance on gold this week and in total Holland won 4 silver medals, but that colour changed since now. EYOF bronze medallist Vermeer beat Cadet European Cup winner Sasaki Chie (JPN) to the -63kg title as the Dutch ace needed just 67 seconds to dismiss her opponent by ippon from a ko-soto-gake.

In the first semi-final Cadet European Championships bronze medallist Anja Obradovic (SRB) lost out to SASAKI (JPN) by tate-shiho-gatame as the former was unable to escape the hold after 20 seconds. In the second semi-final Vermeer was too strong for national championships silver medallist Darja piskunova (LTU) as she won by a solitary yuko score.

The first bronze medal was claimed by Cadet European Championships silver medallist Hanna Kukharuk (UKR) who beat Piskunova (LTU) by a waza-ari. The second bronze medal contest was won by Obradovic (SRB) against Cadet European Championships winner Anastasia Kolyadenkova (RUS) by ippon with 65 seconds left on the clock.

Perhaps the ban is now broken for the Netherlands that have a few aces left for the last day.
