Yanet Bermoy (48 kg) and Yurisel Laborde (78 kg), world champions last year in Cairo, Egypt, head the Cuban national women's judo team that will soon travel to Europe for their traditional European winter tour that, on this occasion, will include five Class A tournaments.

The island's squad is also comprised of 57-kilo Yurisleidis Lupetey, world champion in 2001; 63-kilo Driulis González, world champion in 1995 and 1999; and Saimaris Calderón, world junior champion in the 52-kilo division in 2001. The team is completed by 70-kilo Yalennis Castillo and by rookie Idalis Ortiz in more than 78 kilos.

Some of the events included in this tour are the Ville du Paris in the French capital, on February 11-12; the Open Tournament of Budapest, one week later; and the World Master of Germany, on February 18-19. They also plan to participate in the Open of Warsaw, on March 4-5.
