Proud Giulia Quintavalle flagbearer for Italy at European Games

Giulia Quintavalle will be waving the flag on friday at the Opening Ceremony: gold medalist at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games will be the first standard-bearer in the history of judo. The Italian Olympic Committee (CONI) announced the composition of the Italian team for the European Games in Baku June 12 to 28. Italy will be represented by 295 athletes (168 men and 127 women), the protagonists in 23 disciplines.
Gulia Quintavalle will now be remembered as the first Italian bearer at the first European Games ever.
The Italian judo team consists of: Emanuele Bruno, Antonio Ciano, Domenico Di Guida, Carmine Di Loreto, Walter Facente, Marco Maddaloni, Alessio Mascetti, Andrea Regis, Elio Verde, Giulia Cantoni, Assunta Galeone, Odette Giuffrida, Edwige Gwend, Elisa Marchio, Valentina Moscatt, Jennifer Pitzanti and the proud Giulia Quintavalle.
