Georgian Judo President David Kevkhishvili resigns from his post

David Kevkhishvili, President of the Georgian Judo Federation resigned from his post. Kevkhishvili was u der heavy opposition since the devastating result at the European Championships in Tel Aviv. Kevkhishvili released the information himself.

Kevkhishvili reiterated his respect to employees, coaches, and representatives of clubs and judo fans. He said he could have resigned earlier but did not do so due to interests of judo.

 “I am quitting the position to give chance to every judoka to lead activities in a peaceful environment and call on them not to become victims of provocations. I am sure the latest projects will bring big success to Georgian judo and our country,” Kevkhishvili wrote.

A group of Judoka demanded the resignation of Kevkhishvili for several weeks and held several protests.
