Loïc Korval makes international comeback at Grand Slam Tokyo

After a suspension of six months Loïc Korval is back on track. The European Champion of 2014 in Montpellier and silver medallist at the European Games 2015 won a silver medal at the French Championships U73kg last weekend and is now selected for the Grand Slam in Tokyo.

Korval won world bronze in 2010 in Tokyo he won the European team title with France. Started 2016 with silver in Havana. In 2015 he got suspended temporarily for not showing 3 times at a doping test in 2014. That decision was recalled, but was executed in 2016 by the AFLD, the French doping authority. In Tokyo he comes back one category higher, U73kg.

Loic reacted short at his comeback. “It feels good to be back.”

The French selection for the last Grand Slam of the year consists of 60kg: Walide Khyar 66kg: Alexandre Mariac -73kg: Loïc Korval -90kg: Alexandre Iddir and Axel Clerget -100kg: Cyrille Maret -52kg: Astride Gneto -57kg: Hélène Receveaux and Priscilla Gneto -63kg: Margaux Pinot -70kg : Marie-Eve Gahié and Fanny-Estelle Posvite -78kg: Julie Pierret and Hawa Camara.
