At the first European Cup for seniors in Uster, Germany was the strongest country. In this age category for neo seniors, six victories were achieved by junior athletes. Germany won six categories, followed by the Netherlands with four. Host nation Switzerland lost three finals, but they have enough potential as most atletes stepped up a level over the last 12 months.

An all Dutch final U81kg with Jelle Wolterbeek who defeated Nick Kellij. Wolterbeek took his first European Cup victory. Same counts for Toni Grohn who captured the title U90kg against Swiss Tobias Meier in the final. There was another gold for Germany U100kg by Philipp Galandi. The German is in a good shape, he also won the gold in Visé. Today he defeated his teammate Daniel Herbst in a pretty strong field. World Cadet Champion Simeon Catharina (NED) won bronze.

British 32-year old Chris Sherrington won the heavyweight title. In the final Sherrington defeated Diogo Silva of Portugal.

Belgium celebrated a victory for Gabriella Willems. The Belgian Junior champion shows for the first time that she can handle this senior level after winning all Belgian youth titles. In the final she defeated World Junior bronze Natascha Ausma. There was gold for the Netherlands afterall as European Junior Champion Larissa Groenwold overcame the experienced Lucia Tangorre of Italy.
