Tamerlan Tmenov is double Olympic medallist 2000-2004 and 7 times European Champion 1988-2008, 10 medals. 2005 and 2007 World Championships finalist and won 4 World Championships medals. He comes from the Ossetia Region and moved to Yewara Neva in St. Petersburg where he had many successes. As an athlete Tmenov retired in 2009. He became Vice President of the Russian Judo Federation. He triumphed at the German Open World Masters in 1999 and 2001.
